The workshop

Build it here. Put it to work in your community.

Your team carries important responsibilities: supporting families, coordinating services and making prevention resources count. This workshop gives you focused time, guided practice and practical tools to strengthen that work.

Follow a realistic prevention initiative through the day. Shape the funding request, design the activities, build the budget and report the results. Each exercise connects to the next, so you leave with a practical approach your department can adapt.

Leave with editable working tools and a 90-day action plan built around your department's priorities.

Outcomes

Useful work. Ready to take home.

Every working session moves your prevention initiative forward. Here is what you will build.

  1. 01

    A clearer path to funding

Develop a funding-request outline and identify the information, documentation and approvals it needs.

  2. 02

A workplan your team can use

Turn a prevention priority into activities, responsibilities, timelines and measurable milestones.

  3. 03

    A budget connected to delivery

Cost your activities, identify resource gaps and set up a structure for tracking spending.

  4. 04

    Reporting built into the work

Complete a sample report and connect activity records, expenditures and results.

  5. 05

    Clearer roles and coordination

Map who does what, how partners contribute and where follow-up belongs.

  6. 06

Your next 90 days, mapped out

Bring the day's exercises together into an action plan with clear 30-, 60- and 90-day milestones.

The workshop builds the foundations of a funding request and an operating plan. It does not complete or guarantee approval of any funding application, does not award accredited credits, and does not provide clinical or child-protection advice.

    • Program Activity and Outcome Tracker

This session provides a live demonstration of Zavet, Quantum Strategies' First Nations case and program management platform.

Using the same fictional prevention initiative developed throughout the workshop, Andrew will demonstrate relevant, tested Zavet workflows and illustrate how technology can support effective prevention operations.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is included with my workshop registration?

Your attendee registration includes the full workshop, breakfast and lunch, editable workshop templates and resources, and a Quantum Strategies swag bag.

Take part in the workshop knowledge challenge for a chance to win a door prize. Winners are announced at closing. You can add dietary or accessibility needs during registration.

What is included with a vendor booth?

Each vendor booth includes delegate meals, a table and two chairs. Workshop admission is purchased separately.

Booths are $300 per table plus applicable taxes. Contact April to confirm availability and book.

Do the prices include tax?

No. Prices are base prices plus applicable taxes. Ordinary workshop admission includes GST 5% and PST 6%: one seat is $555 and an attendee table of eight is $4,440.

Vendor booths have their own tax classification and are taxed separately.

Our organization is tax exempt. How do we register?

Select “I am claiming a tax exemption for this booking” during checkout and upload the supporting document for the purchaser — for example an organizational exemption certificate or letter, or a band-management certification.

Your places are reserved while authorized Quantum staff review the claim. GST and PST are reviewed separately. Once the review is complete, you receive a final amount to accept before any payment is collected. An upload is not automatic approval.

What is an attendee table of eight?

Eight workshop admissions at $500 each — $4,000 before applicable taxes — billed on one invoice and seated together. It uses eight of the 125 workshop seats.

You can book a table before you know every name. Add or change names from your booking link before the event; each person needs a name to check in.

Can we pay by cheque at the event?

Yes. Choose “Bring my cheque to event check-in” and bring the cheque to the registration desk on November 17. Your registration is not cancelled because you chose to pay at the event.

You can also mail a cheque. The mailing address is shown on your invoice and the payment step of checkout.

How do we pay by Interac e-Transfer?

Send the amount on your invoice to [email protected] and include your invoice number in the message. Your invoice is updated once Quantum verifies the transfer was received.

We need approval before we register. Can we get a quote?

Yes. Use “Get an approval quote” to download an estimate with the programme and pricing. A quote does not reserve a place; register when you are approved.

Someone can no longer attend. Can we send a substitute?

Yes. Change the attendee from your booking link or contact April before check-in. A substitution never adds a seat or a second invoice.

How do we tell you about dietary or accessibility needs?

Each attendee can add dietary or accessibility needs during registration or later from the booking link. Only event staff who need this information to make arrangements can see it.
